Golden Syrup Cake

I made this golden syrup cake yesterday, it sort of tempted me with it’s slightly unusual but simple recipe! The recipe came from one of the people I follow here on wordpress Heavenly Vegan Baking: http://heavenlyveganbaking.wordpress.com/2013/05/24/vegan-golden-syrup-cake/

It turned out really well. The only thing I would change is the cooking time (it’s probably due to my oven!). The cake looked and felt ready, however when cutting it I discovered the underside was a little undercooked, so maybe add 5-10 minutes to the cooking time.

      You can really taste the golden syrup. Yes it was good, it was probably more of a pudding cake, the sort you might have with vegan custard or cream :)

      No need to apologise at all, that’s why I qualified the cooking time saying it’s probably my oven, it’s very old!!! Thanks for the recipe, we really enjoyed it :)

      1. I’m glad, my oven’s a bit rubbish too, it tends to brown some parts and not others a lot so it’s all patchy (like whenever I make banana muffins, which is sad). I’ll be needing a better oven when I move house considering how much baking i’m now doing! Glad you liked it though :)
