No-Knead Yeast Free Bread

I’ve been working on my bread recipes a lot over the last few weeks, just tweeking and adjusting them to get the bread I want. I now always have a loaf of homemade bread in the cupboard! This is the recipe I’m sticking with for the moment:

4 cups strong wholemeal bread flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
Pinch of salt
2 cups warm water
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

Sift the flour into a large bowl adding back the bran at the end, sift the baking powder and add the salt. Give it a good mix.

Put the warm water and cider vinegar in a jug and stir. Pour this into the dry ingredients and mix it all together. If it’s too dry, just add a little more water.

Tip into a non-stick bread tin. Bake in the oven for about 60 minutes at 180C.

      I made the bread yesterday and left out the sugar. Do you know what, I prefer it without… so have altered the ingredients list!!! Thanks for your question, it got me thinking!

      1. I made a bread and regretted putting sugar in it. So next time I left it out too. I am not a fan of sweet bread. Used to eat then as a kid in Europe :( this is a recipe ;)
